Dear Parents,
The first two weeks of school have gone by quickly and it has been a great start to the school year. At this point, all students should have a better understanding of the expectations of their teachers as well as the importance of coming to school and coming to school on time. Good attendance is vital to our students’ success. I encourage you to please periodically check on your child’s progress through OnBoard. All student grades and attendance should be up to date for every teacher every Sunday. Please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teachers by email if you have any questions or concerns. Teacher contact information is available on our website. You may also refer to our website for important information and events happening at our school.
We will be having a late arrival day for students on September 2 to allow for active shooter training for all faculty and staff to be provided by SFPD S.W.A.T. Also, as part of additional security measures at the school, SFPD will have an officer visible on campus at varying times on varying days each week beginning in September.
The school lobby will be closed at 4:30 every day after school. Students will not be allowed in the lobby after that time. Please make arrangements to pick up your child as close to after school as possible if they do not drive. If they have after school activities, they should only be on campus during the time of that activity or else they will be on campus without supervision.
Today we had our annual blessing of the school. We would like to thank Father Frank Prieto for the blessing of our school, our students, faculty and staff. Our students will accomplish many great things this year and this blessing invited God to be with them through their ups and downs along the way.
Our fall sports and extracurricular activities are in full swing, and we encourage all of you to come out and cheer on our students. Thank you for all your support to make St. Michael’s the great school that it is. Have a great three-day weekend. Go Horsemen!
Yours in Christ,
Martin C. Sandoval, Principal

Let us remember...
The junior high and high school years are times when teenagers are exploring their identities, values, and worldviews. As Lasallians, we, therefore, invite our St. Mike’s families to cultivate a shared sense of spiritual awareness and trust in God’s presence. Lasallian spirituality invites families to recognize that God is actively present in their daily lives—not just at school, in church or during moments of prayer, but also in the everyday routines, challenges, and joys of family life. This awareness helps families stay grounded, especially during the sometimes turbulent teen years, fostering a spirit of patience, hope, and mutual respect.
The Lasallian call to community and association encourages families to see themselves as part of a broader mission of support and compassion. St. John Baptist De La Salle believed that education and spiritual growth thrive most in strong, supportive communities. For families, this means actively participating in your child’s school experience, nurturing relationships with other families, and modeling service to others. By all of us working together and by association in community, we can go beyond academics and athletics, and shape students into compassionate, service-minded and faith-filled individuals.
Live Jesus in our hearts...

HELP US REACH OUR GOAL FOR THE 25- 26 SCHOOL YEAR!
To keep our programs strong and our doors open to all deserving students, your generous donation will support the following priorities for the 2025–2026 school year:
20% – Tuition Assistance
Tuition assistance ensures that no qualified student is turned away for financial reasons. For the 2025-2026 school year our average award per student applicant was $4,473 meeting 74% of all student needs.
25% – Capital Improvements
This year’s facility focus is completing necessary repairs to the remaining sections of our school roof. These improvements are essential for providing a safe and effective learning environment.
35% – Teacher and Staff Retention / Classroom Support
Investing in our teachers is an investment in our students. By funding salaries, classroom materials, and professional development, we can continue attracting and retaining high-quality educators committed to our Lasallian mission.
20% – Long-Term Reserve Fund
St. Michael’s High School has an investment portfolio. It is important that the School continue to build this portfolio to secure the long-term health of the School. Money from this portfolio can only be accessed with Board of Trustee approval and is not part of the annual budget. The larger the portfolio, the more protected St. Michael’s will be in case of emergencies or unforeseen circumstances.
