The Private Energy Solar Team, winner of the DONG Energy Solar Challenge in 2010, has already been to Monaco for a two day intensive test on invitation of the Monaco Yacht Club and Vripack. They returned enthusiastic. ‘The waves are higher than in the Netherlands. Therefore I had to work harder to sail stable, but reaching speeds of 40 km an hour went well’, according to Gerard van der Schaar of the solar boat team.
