Saudi Arabia has a new Crown Prince,

perhaps the most powerful Prince ever to hold that position.

His Majesty, Prince Nayef bin Abdul-Aziz al-Saud,

the 23rd son of Saudi Arabia’s founder King Abdul-Aziz al-Saud

Prince Nayef, Now 78, who succeeds Crown Prince Sultan –who died of cancer last week. As for democracy for the people, even young Saudis “don’t really care whether they vote or not,” Prof. Haykel said, as long as they have the good life. Indeed, he noted, “very few people voted in the country’s recent municipal elections.”
