Assignments
1. Handwritten assignments must be neat. If I can’t read them I won’t grade them.
2. Typed assignments must be completed as directed by the instructor.
3. All assignments must have your first and last name, date, and period number.
4. CHEATING WILL NOT BE TOLERATED IN MY CLASS. This includes any form of plagiarism, copying from friends or classmates, obtaining information inappropriately, etc. Please see the academic integrity policy in the student handbook for further information. If you are comfortable cheating, you should be comfortable with the outcomes.
Late/Make-up Work
1. Work is due on the assigned date. If you are absent it is due when you return.
2. If you are absent on a test day, you will make up the test when you return. Test version A is given on test day. Make-ups are versions B and C. Make-up versions are always harder.
3. If work is a major project (due date assigned at least 2 weeks in advance), it is STILL DUE ON THE ASSIGNED DATE. Email as an attachment or share via google, or have someone bring it to school for you, or see Dr. K to come up with an acceptable solution if you will be absent.
4. TURN IN LATE WORK. Some points are better than no points at all.
5. If you are absent from school, you will have extra time to complete the work. Field trips or absences from the class period are not considered absences from school. Bring your completed work to me sometime during the day.
Marking Period Grades
1. Your percentage grade will be based on how many points you earn out of how many total points are available each marking period.
YOUR POINTS / TOTAL POINTS = YOUR GRADE
For Environmental Science: 30% of the points come from tests, 30% from labs, 40% from other assignments.
For AP Biology: 30% of the points come from tests, 30% from labs, 40% from other assignments.
2. Points will come from homework, quizzes, in-class assignments/activities, lab reports, tests, projects, and participation (in the form of do-nows).
3. There will be random open notes tests. Take advantage of this opportunity and KEEP A GOOD NOTEBOOK.
4. There will be extra credit opportunities. Take advantage of them.
5. Grades will be posted in the portal within 3 days of their collection in most cases.
