FOR THE TABLE:
record numbers first, then do the percents later.
Draw your # of M&Ms out of the bag, and record how many you get of each color.
When you're ready to calculate percent, remember:
% = #/total x 100
for example, % brown = the number brown M&Ms you got, divided by the total number of M&Ms you drew for that sample. So if you drew 5 candies, and 2 were brown, the percent would be 2/5 = 0.4, or 40%
FOR THE GRAPH:
You are constructing FOUR small bar graphs (scroll down for rough example), one for each sample size (5, 10, 20, and 30). Make sure each axis is correctly labeled.
FOR THE QUESTIONS:
The actual distribution of M&Ms, according to the company (how many of each color are supposed to be in every bag) is:
Red 13%, Blue 22%, Green 16%, Yellow 14%, Orange 20%, Brown 15%
Hint for numbers 7 and 8: think about this: SAMPLE SIZE. What happens as you increase sample size? what happens if sample size is too small?
