See attached PDF.
Pre-lab preparation:
1. Get an abbreviated copy of the lab in class from Dr. Kostenko.
2. In the extended online packet, read through the Background Information (p.4-5) and Procedure for Investigation 1.
4. Your choices for experimentation will be varying degrees of light intensity.
5. Formulate a hypothesis (i.e.: if leaf discs with a carbon dioxide source are exposed to... (light/intense light/dim light/dark), then the rate of photosynthesis will be faster/slower, and more/less leaf discs would be observed floating)
6. WATCH THIS VIDEO, several times if necessary, to get familiar with the technique you must perform. Without proper technique the experiment will not work.
Lab Day:
1. You will work in groups of 3 or 4.
2. Compare hypotheses and come up with a unified "best plan."
3. Follow the procedure for Part 1 (adding in your own steps/tweaks/changes where appropriate) to set up your experiment.
4. Execute experiment during the double period and fill in/record the appropriate data tables and graphs.
5. When finished, break down your experiment, and complete your report for homework.
6. Immediately begin writing up a formal lab report in your lab notebook.
7. Include the 6 post-lab study questions from page 14 of the lab packet as a post-lab section after your conclusion.
8. Turn your lab notebook by the assigned date for review by Dr. Kostenko.
