Memory Verse: Exodus 24:7
Biblical Truth: Moses affirmed God’s covenant with the people by their declaration of obedience and by sprinkling blood on them.
Context: In the last lesson, we saw God deliver His people from Egyptian bondage. When today’s lesson occurs, the Israelites have made a three-month journey to arrive at Mt. Sinai. During their journey through the inhospitable desert, God provided water, quail, and manna. When the Amalekites, a fierce band of nomadic desert raiders, attacked the Israelites, they were defeated in a miraculous way. God provided for Israel’s physical needs. Today we will see how God provided for Israel’s spiritual needs.
Learning Goals:
Understand why Moses affirmed the covenant with blood.
Apply your understanding by realizing Jesus offered Himself as the ultimate sacrifice for their sins.
