Lesson Overview
Biblical Passage: Jeremiah 33:14–26
Supporting Passages: Genesis 15, Jeremiah 2:13, Hebrews 13:5
Memory Verse: Jeremiah 33:20–21
Biblical Truth: God promises to continue His people through the descendants of David.
Context: This lesson looks at God’s covenant with people in terms of His faithfulness in keeping it. The Israelites could cite a long and impressive history of being God’s chosen people, but in the wake of the collapse of one kingdom and in the midst of the assault on another, they had begun to feel God was turning away from them. In this passage, however, God reminded the people through the prophet Jeremiah that He would never leave them nor forsake them. God is eternally faithful in loving His children.
Learning Goals:
Students will understand God is always faithful.
Students will apply their understanding by identifying ways God has been faithful to them.
