Biblical Truth: God responds to our sin with discipline and grace.
Context: Throughout Scripture, God has responded to humanity’s failure with discipline and grace. This response is seen in the account of humanity’s first sinful act. In Genesis 3:9–21, God searched for Adam and Eve after they sinned. Isn’t this God’s characteristic action when people sin? When God confronted Adam and Eve, they played the “blame game.” Isn’t that most people’s characteristic response when God confronts them with sin? This lesson reveals the harsh realities of a broken relationship with God.
Learning Goals:
To recognize that God responds to sin with discipline and grace.
To value God’s love as His motive for discipline and grace in responding to their sin.
Essential Truths:
People are God’s Treasure
Salvation is by Faith Alone
