Anthony Roscoe Towne Beddow

Holywells Park, Myrtle Road, Ipswich

On June 29th, 1949, an aeroplane crashed on central Ipswich. Thanks to the bravery of the pilot, who could have bailed out and saved his life, but who chose to steer the plane into the edge of a park instead, only one person on the ground was killed.
