The PCC at DMMMSU, located in Nagtagaan, Rosario, La Union has been successfully conducting projects regarding the improvement of dairy cooperatives and other activities to widen the knowledge of farmers and trainees who are willing to learn.
Cooperatives are properly assisted and supervised by the center in proper processing and handling of raw milk up to selling them which contributes to the development of the cooperative’s knowledgeable dairy producing and for further growth. Milk records from farmers are also collected which serves as a leverage for farmers to have more income from their lactating carabaos. Individual crossbred owners were assisted to market their milk product through link aging and product promotion in the municipalities of Bauang and Naguilian La Union. In line with this includes the monitoring of the farm activities and operations. Farmers and caretakers of the farms are continuously coached and monitored. They were assisted in the planting of napier and fertilization of forage area. The center also conducted refresher course training on Basic Animal Health and Management and silage making and assisted in family module (construction of bayanihan shed). The efficient and productive connectivity of the center to the farmers and trainees provides an array of benefits resulting to quality work performance.
PCC at DMMMSU assisted in the implementation of “Provincial Ordinance No. 170. Regulating the Sales/Slaughter of Female carabaos within the province of Pangasinan establishing a buy-back scheme for female breedable Carabaos and providing funds therefore” thru reminding the Provincial Veterinarian to properly implement the Ordinance.
