We demonstrate and transfer technologies through orientations/awareness meetings, technical trainings, techno-demonstrations, and other technical services.
As of today, we have a total of 14 cooperatives/associations in General Trias and Tanza in Cavite; Rosario, Batangas; Magdalena, Laguna; Jala-Jala and Pililia in Rizal; Sipocot, Camarines Sur; Bongabong, Bansud, Gloria and Rizal in Mindoro; Dolores, Quezon; and Pagsanta and Agarao in Sta Cruz.
In line with these, PCC UPLB assisted in the creation of several dairy cooperatives and associations in our dairy impact zone starting with General Trias Dairy Raisers Multi-Purpose Cooperative in Cavite.
CBED: Milka Krem @ UPLB
The Philippine Carabao Center at UPLB is a premier research and development institution promoting profitable and sustainable Carabao-based enterprises designed to improve the income and nutrition of rural farming communities.
To continue demonstrating success of the carabao-based enterprise, we are currently constructing a new facility for milk processing and dairy bar to produce the best quality, fresh and safe carabao-based dairy products -- the Milka Krem @ UPLB. This is a showcase of knowledge products from researches and product development that highlights the dairy business and the higher income that can be generated from it. This was designed to cater more customers/clients that include students and professionals during their field visits/field trips.
In addition, Milka Krem at UPLB aims to be a social advocacy hub that will showcase products of our farmers. All of these products will highlight use of carabao’s milk, meat or hide and will entirely help widen the marketing opportunities of the farmer-cooperatives.
The Center targets to serve our customers by the last quarter of this year.
