TRIGGER E.

A 10-year-old boy with a toothache. The toothache was noted three days ago on the left lower jaw area. The pain was becoming more and more intolerable. There was no history of injury.

Examination of the mouth shows a cavity in the left lower second molar.

Your clinical diagnosis is TOOTHACHE SECONDARY TO DENTAL CARIES IN THE LEFT LOWER SECOND MOLAR.

You decided not to have any paraclinical diagnostic procedure done.

E-Q-1. What will be the treatment for this patient?

E-R-1. Analgesics

Referral to a dentist

Advices

E-I-2.1. Please write a prescription of an analgesics drug.

E-I-2.2. Please write a referral latter to Dentist DDM.

E-I-2.3. Please give advice to the child as to

1. diagnosis and possible treatment.

2. prevention of dental caries.
