Icon: Mixtela
Rambling Introduction
For the past few weeks I've become fascinated by someone I originally found on YouTube and goes by the name of mixtela, although his real name is Tim Alex Jacobs. He is a creative spirit working with older or creative ways of making sound and/or synths and/or games. He also inspires me through his fascination with low-level hardware (he created a Gameboy emulator in JavaScript, talking about an interesting mix of low-level vs high-level).
Precious Previous Projects
Some of his most projects that inspire me most include (in no special or specific order):
Stylophone business card: Does what it tells on the can, it is a business card that is also a stylophone, micro electronics ftw.
Midi Music Box: IMO his most inspiring work, he has made a mechanical music box MIDI activated, allowing it to be played real time.
DIY 8-Bit Game Console: He made a fully working console, including game cartridges, that outputs audio and draws on a XY-mode oscilloscope.
World's Smallest MIDI Synthesizer: A fully working MIDI synthesizer that is housed in the MIDI 5-pin plug.
