Sam Battle, also known as LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER, is a London based musician and inventor. As the name suggest, he’s building all kinds of analogue and weird instruments without using any digital component or computer. LMNC also has a youtube cannel where he shares some funny videos about what he does and how he does it.

His instruments are made out of old analogue machines, weird circuit bended toys and other analogue resources. My favorite projects are the flamethrower organ and module, which are musical instruments which also throw flames, the “furby organ”, which is a organ made out of furby toys, the “wonder wonder bible”, which is a circuit bended audiobible and the “gameboy megamachine”, which is a synthesizer module that uses lots of gameboys as oscillators.

Apart from these crazy instruments, he also does interesting and funny tutorials on basic electronics for music instruments and modular synthesizers. He is into modular synthesizers and does videos where he explains how to build DIY modules. Since I discovered his youtube channel, I started believing that electronics was not that difficult, and thank’s to his videos, I got into analogue electronics. He was for me an important source of inspiration and and icon, and a fundamental figure in the building of my passion for D.I.Y culture.

I’ve also done an analogue instrument which I called “DroneBox”, a drone synthesizer based on transistor oscillators, which is based on a project of LMNC. You can find some documentations here: https://www.behance.net/gallery/69367941/DIY-Electronics-Instruments
