Why do I need this medicine? ADD APP belongs to a group of medicines called antihistamines.

ADD APP helps to relieve symptoms of allergy, such as runny nose, sneezing, itchy and watery eyes. It also relieves allergic skin conditions, such as itchiness in eczema and chicken pox, redness, tenderness and swelling (hives), rashes and reactions to insect bites.

ADD APP is also used to treat migraines and similar headaches.

ADD APP may also be used to treat other conditions, as decided by your doctor. How do I take this medicine? Take ADD APP exactly as directed by your doctor. Do not take more or less than instructed by your doctor.

You may take ADD APP with food to minimise stomach discomfort. Take it with a full glass of water. What should I do if I have forgotten to take this medicine? Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and return to your normal dosing schedule.

DO NOT double a dose under any circumstances.

When should I not use this medicine? Alert your doctor if you are taking antidepressants called monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), or took them in the last 14 days.

Alert your doctor if you have glaucoma, stomach or intestinal ulcers, narrowing or blockage between the stomach and intestine, prostate problems or difficulty in urination.

Do not take ADD APP if you are having an asthma attack.

Alert your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not take ADD APP if you are breastfeeding.

Do not take ADD APP if you are elderly and weak, as you may be more sensitive to the side effects. You will be advised by your doctor if this applies to you.

Do not give ADD APP to premature or newborn babies, or children younger than 2 years old. Do not give ADD APP to any child unless specifically instructed by the child's doctor. What should I take note of while taking this medicine? Alert your doctor if you have any of the following conditions:

- lung problems, such as asthma or bronchitis

- glaucoma

- prostate enlargement or difficulty in urination

- overactive thyroid gland

- high blood pressure

- heart problems

Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking medicines to treat anxiety or help you sleep.

Be sure to check with your doctor or pharmacist before giving ADD APP to young children or elderly persons. Young children and elderly people may be more prone to the side effects of ADD APP. What side effects could I experience? ADD APP causes drowsiness. However, drowsiness usually disappears after 3-4 days of taking ADD APP. Elderly people may be more likely to feel drowsy or dizzy. Blurred vision and loss of coordination may also occur. If you are affected, do not drive or take part in any activity in which you need to be alert.

Other side effects may include:

- headache, confusion, fatigue, restlessness, nervousness, excitation (especially in children), insomnia

- stomach discomfort, nausea and vomiting, diarrhoea, constipation

- dry mouth, nose and throat

- ringing in the ears

- thickening of phlegm

- shaking, excessive sweating

- muscle or bone ache

- early menstruation in women

- increase or loss of appetite, weight gain

These side effects are usually uncommon. Alert your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or refuse to go away.

Some side effects are rare but may be serious. Stop taking ADD APP and alert your doctor immediately if you experience the following:

- rapid or irregular heart beat

- faintness - shortness of breath - yellowing of skin and/or eyes (jaundice) - rashes, itch and swelling - passing urine frequently or difficulty in passing urine or dark urine - numbness or tingling sensation in the hands or feet - spinning sensation (vertigo) Alert your doctor if you experience any other side effects while being treated with ADD APP. Also inform your doctor if your condition does not improve or worsen while taking ADD APP.Can I take this with other medicines? Alert your doctor if you are taking any medicines to help with sleep, anxiety or depression. Always inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines, including herbal tonics, supplements and medicines that you buy without a prescription. Are there any restrictions on the type of food I can take? Avoid alcohol. How should I store this medicine? Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children. Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
