Position of the patient- Patient is first examined in the standing position and then in the supine position.

    4. Position of the penis-

PALPATION-

    2. To get above the swelling-

    3. Consistency-

    4. Relation of the swelling to the testis & spermatic cord-

    5. Impulse on coughing-

    6. Is the swelling reducible?-

    7. Invagination test-

    8. Ring occlusion test-

    9. In case of a child-

PERCUSSION-

AUSCULTATION-

Examine the testis, epididymis & spermatic cord-

Examine the tone of the abdominal muscles-
