Dear Mother

I start tomorrow morning at 5 o’clock for Liverpool & sail for Malta in the Warsprite. [sic] I fancy that I have got a great deal of baggage – at least, one tells me so.

I have just finished packing up. I shall send you the key of one of the Drawer Cases & if you will open with it the top case & then the right hand Drawer you will find all the other keys.

I have managed to sell my servants clothes for the same that I gave for them which is very nice.

I am obliged to get a new servant as my old one has consumption & is returned unfit for foreign service.

With love &c. to all

I remain

Yr. affect. Son

Julius, Dyson, Laurie

I am just going to write to my Father about money matters. Have you heard from John or Peter lately.

If you receive my parcels from here you must not be surprised as I told my old servant that if any came from Cayleys after I go, to send them to you

(In Haste)
