Week #15: Introduction to Plate Tectonics

This week's Tasks: May 26th - June 1st, 2014

1. ISU Research Report Conferences: Final Paper Thesis and Outline for Research Report. By the end of this week, I am requesting that you complete the following so that I know that you are on track for your final research report and seminar.

DUE DATE FOR FINAL SUBMISSION OF RESEARCH REPORT IS: Sunday June 15th, 2014 @ 11:59 p.m.

Please send the following to the dropbox called ISU - Research report thesis and outline:

- Your finalized thesis statement (refer to the ISU package if you are still having difficulties with coming up with a good thesis statement)

- Your research report outline (including your three sub-headings, evidence with proofs and list of academic sources / references).

- a minimum of 5 graphics, diagrams, charts, maps or images that you intend on using within your research report. Remember that every graphic that you use must be referred to in research report.

2. Complete Quiz #10: Chapters 9 & 10: Surface and Groundwater - (DEADLINE to complete is 11:59 pm on June 1st) using the LMS (Based on Chapters 9 & 10 Study Guides). Remember that you will only have one attempt to complete all quizzes. You also only have 30 minutes to complete, so make sure that you have completed the reading and study guide before you attempt any quiz in this course.

3. Open, read and complete all handouts for the following Powerpoint slideshows.

a. PPT: Introduction to Plate Tectonics (student worksheet)

4. Complete Chapter 17 Study Guide. You will need to print this directly or you can complete it using google docs. Although I will not be collecting or evaluating the Study Guides, I highly recommend completing them as I often use questions directly from these guides on quizzes and unit tests. These guides are useful for keeping up with all course content. NOTE: Next week you will have a quiz based on this chapter

Students are also expected to make specific references to external websites, journal articles, books or magazines that support their point of view (doing so will help you achieve that LEVEL 4!)
