Week #17: Final Course Summative Activities and Unit Test

This week's Tasks: June 9th - 15th, 2014

Welcome to the official last week of this e-learning course. Next week will be devoted to preparing for the Final Examination, so it is important that we wrap up the course content this week. I would like to thank each of you for your dedication to this course over the past 4 months or so. I have been very impressed with the work that you have completed / created and I am confident that you will be adequately prepared for the Final Exam.

As for the final exam. I have emailed each of your home school guidance counsellors / e-learning contacts to let them know that your exam should be written at some point between June 17th - June 24th, 2014. They should be in contact with you shortly to let you know that exact time and location that you will be writing. Please note, this exam is a proctored final examination and will be completed using the LMS (D2L) system only (there will be no paper copy involved). Students will have 2 hours to complete the exam online. The final exam is worth 15% of your final grade in SES 4U1. An exam review package is included at the bottom of this page. I would encourage you to complete this package in preparation for the final exam. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

1. Complete Quiz #12: Chapters 18 & 19: Volcanoes and Earthquakes - (DEADLINE to complete is 11:59 pm on June 15th. This is the final quiz for the course) using the LMS (Based on Chapters 18 & 19 Study Guides). Remember that you will only have one attempt to complete all quizzes. You also only have 30 minutes to complete, so make sure that you have completed the reading and study guide before you attempt any quiz in this course.

2. Complete Chapter 20 Study Guide. You will need to print this directly or you can complete it using google docs. Although I will not be collecting or evaluating the Study Guides, I highly recommend completing them as I often use questions directly from these guides on quizzes and unit tests. These guides are useful for keeping up with all course content. NOTE: There is not a quiz on Chapter 20, but there are some multiple choice questions from this Chapter on the final exam.
