Week #6: Unit Summative Activity and Unit Review

This week's Tasks : October 14th - 19th, 2014

1. Complete and use the Unit 1 & 2 Review Handout. You are not required to hand this in for evaluation, but I would recommend that you complete this BEFORE you attempt the Unit 1 & 2 test.

NOTE: Chapters 1 & 2 are not on this handout, but the matching section on the test is based on these chapters solely.

- You will be required to complete the Unit 1 & 2 Test at some point this week. You must completely finish the test by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday October 21st. Submissions after this time will not be accepted and you will receive a "0" on this test.

- you will only have 2 hours to complete the test and you may only attempt the test once (i.e. you should start the test BEFORE 10:00 pm on October 19th).

3. Discussion and Debate: Please log in to the chat room in the LMS and contribute regularly to the class discussions / debate for this week. Students will be evaluated on the quality and quantity of their responses. Students are expected to post at least 2 comments under each discussion / debate topic and must respond to at least 2 others comments in the class. Students are also expected to make specific references to external websites, journal articles, books or magazines that support their point of view (doing so will help you achieve that LEVEL 4!)

10 Outdated Astronomical Theories

Choose one of these 10 "outdated" Astronomical theories and write a 50-100 word annotated analysis (summary and personal analysis) of this theory. You may also choose a theory that is not on this list if you wish. Comment on at least 2 other posts from your peers.

4. Complete weekly Video Journal Submissions: You are required to take detailed notes on the various informative videos that you will be watching this semester. Some videos you will need to take notes, others you will be asked to answer specific questions. You should be prepared to watch and copy / prepare notes for approximately 2 hours of relevant videos each week in the course.
