Meghan's Flyover Dress Ensemble
Materials: Dress takes about 190 yards of #10 Crochet Cotton. Hat and clutch purse together take about 17 additional yarn of thread. Size 4 steel crochet hook, matching sewing thread, sewing needle, small snaps, scissors. Stiffen clutch purse with a piece of cardboard or plastic canvas. A small amount of 0.5mm elastic thread with a dab of Fray-Check can be used to attach purse to doll's hand. Use a pearl head straight pin as a hat pin for the hat.
Gauge: Fits fashion doll with belly button
Special stitches:
Double chain-(Double ch)-ch 1, sc in 2ndch from hook, *sc in side of sc just formed. Repeat from * for required number of ch.
Increase (inc)-2 sc in st.
Decrease(dec)-Work 2 sc together
Directions:
Work Meghan’s gown for rows 1-21 Even rows are the RS of dress.
Row 22-Repeat row 22 above, but work this row in back loop only.
Rowns 23-33-Work same as gown above.

Sleeves-Work the same as Meghan’s gown
Self belt with ties. Turn dress to right side. Try dress on doll and mark the last st of underlap. Hold dress upside down with bodice facing. Make a ch of 20, then sl st in front lps of waistline (unused lp of row 21) but not in underlap. Ch 20 more to complete belt, then end off.
Finishing- Anchor joins and weave in all ends. Sew on snaps.
CLUTCH-
Row 1-Foundation sc of 12 sc, ch 1 to turn
Rows 2-16-Sc in each sc, ch 1, turn. Omit ch 1 and turn on last row
Finishing-Thread needle with a strand of yarn and sew sides together, inserting a piece of cardboard or plastic canvas to stiffen. Weave threads to insde of clutch. I used a small length of 0.5 mm clear elastic to attach clutch to doll’s hand. Thread the elastic through the eye of a needle and sew into clutch. Made a loop large enough to slip the doll's hand through and knot the elastic thread. Use a dab of Fray-Check to secure the knot.
HAT-Ch 2 or magic ring
Rnd 1-6 2c in 2ndch from hook or in ring. Use a piece of contrasting sewing thread to run up the end of each rnd to mark the place (remove thread when finished)Do not join sc rounds.
Rnd 2-2 sc in each sc
Rnds 3-7-6 Evenly spaced increases every rnd. Rnd 7 has 42 sts
Brim Rnd 1-Work in back lp this rnd only. join to 1stsc of last rnd, ch 3 as dc, joined dc or dc in same st as join, dc in next 2 sts, 2 dc in next st, dc in next 3 sts (2 dc in next st, st, dc in next 2 sts, 2 dc in next st, dc in next 3 sts)5x, join with sl st to first st of round. 54 dc
Rnd 2 –Working in both lps of previous rnd, (dc in next 3 sts, 2 dc in next st, dc in next 3 sts, 2 dc in next st, dc next st )6x, join to first st of rnd. 66 sts Second st of rnd can be a joined dc.
Rnd 3-(Dc in next 2 sts, 2 dc in next st, dc in next 5 st, 2 dc in next st, dc in next 2 st)6x, join with sts st, end off. 78 sts. 2ndst of round can be joined dc. Weave in ends. Fasten to doll’s hair with a pearl head straight pin.
