Fashion Doll Jiffy Shrug

Materials: About 45 yards fine fingering yarn, divided; crochet hook size D; small hook and eye set to close shrug; yarn needle or smaller hook to weave in ends, sewing needle and thread to match yarn

Gauge: Fits most newer fashion dolls

Pattern notes:

Yarn should be in 2 balls, one at least 4 yards and the other with the remainder of the yarn. If the yarn is in a skein and you can access them, work from both ends.

Ch 2 at beginning of each dc row does not count as a stitch.

Pattern starts at the bottom of the back and works up and around to the front.

Main body:

With larger ball of yarn, ch 18

Row 1-Dc in 3rd ch from hook and in each ch across. 16 dc-this should fit around the back of the doll, under the bustline.

Row 2-Ch 2, turn, dc in each st across.

Rows 3-5-Repeat row 2.

Row 6-Ch 2, turn, dc in next 4 dc, 2 dc in each of next 2 dc. Leave remaining 10 sts unworked. 8 dc

Rows 7-10-Ch 2, turn, dc in each st across.

Row 11-Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across, then sc in opposite side of starting ch under row 1. Secure end; do not end off. 24 sc up to this point.

Second side:

With smaller ball of yarn, skip 1st 4 unworked sts on row 5, join with ch 2 in next st

Row 6-2 dc in same st as join, 2 dc in next st, dc in each st across. 8 dc

Row 7-10-Repeat rows 7-10 of main body above. End off after row 10.

Row 11-pick up from row 11 above-sc in each dc across, end off. 32 sc.

Finishing:

Secure join, weave in ends, sew on hook and eye (option-secure shrug with a snap or with yarn ties).
