Planning, Managing and Funding Research Projects

Saturday, January 25, 2014

8:45 a.m. - 3:00 p.m

Kellogg Center

Planning, writing, and getting funding for a research idea as a doctoral student, new postdoc, new faculty member, or researcher in industry can be a daunting task. How do you manage a research project from proposal to completion, and how does the process vary by discipline? How do you work with collaborators and constituencies to most effectively get your work done? This conference will focus on how to break down the various components and tasks of a research project, identify strategies for organization, teamwork, and project management, and understand the process of identifying and securing funding. Information will be applicable to a range of research projects (a specific grant, a publication, a thesis or dissertation).
