EPET Funding Opportunities

Good news! If you (or your advisee) are gearing up to collect dissertation data, the college has made funds available to help with research costs.

The following guidelines apply:

    • These funds must be spent on direct research expenses (e.g., participant incentives, testing/validating original instruments, purchasing commercial tests, postage/photocopying, travel to data collection sites).

    • Awards will range from $1000 to $4000.

    • These funds are for hard costs, not to free up time (though the money can go to pay for other labor costs like data entry). This means that these funds aren't suitable for students in the final stages of writing; instead, they are intended to support students who are conceiving of and building their dissertation projects, pilot-testing, or considering more ambitious, independent dissertations that may be cost prohibitive otherwise.

If that sounds like you, I encourage you to apply. To do so, please prepare a detailed budget for anticipated expenses and a one-paragraph introduction about your project's needs, and send them to Ayodele Webb by November 10, 2014. Funding decisions will be made by December 1, 2014. Note that priority will be given to students who have not received this award in previous years.
