Day 73 - Home in Centurion - Summary

It is great to be home.

We had a fantastic trip.

Luckily we only had a few minor hiccups along the way. Most of them could be repaired by Philip. On the bright side, we learnt some lessons, were kept busy and can prepare better for the next trip.

While we did incur some minor issues, these were not show stoppers for our trip.

The question is "When is our next trip and where will we go?"

We were away from home for a total of 73 days and covered a total of 11,044km averaging 151.29km per day.

Total fuel cost was R15,029 and our average fuel consumption was 9.27km per litre (10.79L/100km).

Total accommodation costs were R19,482 and was spent as follows:

1) Bed & Breakfast : Not applicable

2) Camping : R19,482

3) Hotel : Not applicable

We camped for the full duration in the Oryx Caravan to keep costs down.

We have intentionally excluded other costs such as vehicle services, meals, safari trips, border crossing costs etc.
