Our adult responsibilities have final forced us to leave Swakopmund for Sesriem.
We drove via Walvis Bay, Kuiseb Canyon and Solitaire to Sesriem. As we had extended our stay at Swakopmund, we could not make detours as originally planned as we needed to get back to South Africa by 10th December.
Early on Tuesday morning we headed into the park to visit the Sossusvlei and enjoy breakfast under the trees that line the vlei. While cooking breakfast a Jackal came right up to us looking for scraps to eat. Obviously we did not feed the Jackal (Never feed the animals in game parks). However, we left crumbs for the many birds that came to visit us.
On our way back to camp, a Toyota Prado and Fortuner got stuck in the think sand. The local Parks officials towed them out for a fee of N$300.00 each. I would have enjoyed towing them out.
