When heading homewards, the road from Ghanzi to Kang appeared extra long. We stopped at the Kalahari Rest Camp which is 26km North of Kang. We took the only campsite with it’s private ablution. Lynne spent 30 minutes cleaning the ablutions to eradicate unwanted wildlife which included spiders and a scorpion. We were told the generator will provide electricity between 18h00 and 24h00.
We drove through the small game park and only saw 3 buck.
At 18h30 we complained that we had no electricity even though we could hear the generator running. By 19h00 we had electricity, however by 20h00 the circuit breaker tripped and we were left with no electricity for the rest of the night.
We decided that we would not spend two nights as planned and rather go to Jwaneng in the hope to find a campsite.
