We departed from Bakgatla, Pilanesberg, at 09h30 and travelled along the gravel roads to Madikwa Game Reserve.
Soon after the Madikwe gate, we stopped to pull a car out of a ditch. The driver had skidded on the gravel road and ended up in the ditch.
We entered Botswana via the Tlokweng border post.
The border post was very quiet and we crossed the border in 20 minutes. We encountered no traffic control stations along the route.
We arrived in Gaberones at 14h00. We obtained a mobile SIM card so that we could use it for data connectivity during our travels in Botswana. Gaberones now has hundreds of shopping centres and traffic is an absolute nightmare. It was probably because Tuesday & Wednesday were public holidays in Botswana (Independence Day).
It was great to see Elsie again and spent the evening catching up on news. We all missed Mike who had passed away earlier in 2014.
