We left Maun at 08h30 and headed for Plant Baobab. On arriving at Planet Baobab we decided to continue to Elephant Sands as it was still early and we did not feel like doing any of the activities available at Planet Baobab. We had a cup of tea and continued to Elephant Sands which is about 60km north of Nata.
We were pleasantly surprised by what we saw at Elephant Sands. An elephant watering hole surrounded by nice chalets and bar & restaurant. We setup camp and then sat at the pub watching the elephants drinking metres away.
We setup camp and watched the Elephant from our camp chairs. Camping facilities are very basic but the experience makes up for what is lacking (tap and
electrical point).
A variety of birds came and visited us and come within an arm’s reach of us.
We enjoyed a nice dinner at Elephant Sands before retiring to the caravan.
We sat outside watching the elephants for some time before going the bed.
