Molly Prosser holds an MFA in Poetry from Carlow University, and a BA in English Literature from Penn State University. During her undergraduate degree, Molly studied abroad in Manchester, England (due to her adoration of Morrissey) where she focused on Victorian Literature. She was selected as an undergraduate Research Assistant for the PSU English department, and worked as an editor for two faculty publications – a collection of rare letters from Sir Percy Bysshe Shelley, and a collection of Victorian homosexual poetry. As part of her graduate study, Molly travelled to Ireland twice to work under notable poets such as Desmond Eagn and Anne Enright. She studied here in Pittsburgh under Louise Gluck, Ann Townsend, Naomi Shihab Nye, and Jan Beatty. Her graduate thesis focused on the effect borders have on artistic expression. Molly has given numerous poetry readings in and around the Pittsburgh area, and her work has appeared in The Pittsburgh City Paper, Weave Magazine, Football Bloody Hell, and The New Yinzer. She was a member of the International Poetry Forum, and she is an active participant in local writing workshops including The Madwomen in the Attic and the Lines and Stops Collective. She is working on her second collection of poems, and her restaurant review blog, The RadDish, is slated to launch in November, 2009. Molly now works in the field of Fashion Writing, and is the Lead Editor and Writing Team Coordinator for the online fashion boutique ModCloth.com. She also holds an adjunct position at Carlow University, where she teaches Composition, Intro to Literature, Intro to Poetry, and Marketing and Business Writing. Additionally, she does event planning for Carlow’s MFA program. In the past, Molly has worked as an assistant for a women’s-focused, graduate leadership program, a Document Analyst for a legal firm, and an Instructor for an art school near Hollywood, CA. Molly has also been a waitress, because all writers have to serve food at some point.
Molly is a lover of travel, urban farming, canning, and Bollywood films. She lives in Regent Square with her husband and their mini wiener dog, Keith Richards.
