James B. Struzzi II, Press Officer

James B. Struzzi II, 45, is currently the Press Secretary for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation District 11 covering Allegheny, Beaver and Lawrence counties. In this capacity he handles PennDOT-related television, radio and newspaper interviews, oversees customer service operations, website development, legislative interactions and all public relations activities. Struzzi has appeared on several television shows and numerous news and media broadcasts. Previously, he was staff reporter with the Butler Eagle and Murrysville Star newspapers. He is 1985 graduate of Penn-Trafford High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in English writing from the University of Pittsburgh, Greensburg. He attended master’s degree courses in Public Administration at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Struzzi has written and published two young adult fiction novels, The Christmas Secret and Jacob’s Haunting, (www.booksbystruzzi.com) and is also the lead vocalist in a local rock band. He lives in Indiana County with his wife and four children.
