Molly Howard has been the Assignment Editor at KDKA Television in Pittsburgh since 2002. She previously worked at KYW TV in Philadelaphia and WPGH in Pittsburgh and was among the first journalists on the scene of the Flight 93 crash on Sept. 11, 2001. At KDKA, she's coordinated local coverage for breaking news stories including the Quecreek and Sago Mine Accidents, Hurricane Katrina, the death of Mayor Bob O'Connor, the April 2009 shootings of three Pittsburgh Police officers, and more happily, two Super Bowl wins and a Stanley Cup championship. She works with CBS News on a daily basis to feed local stories of national interest to The Early Show, CBS Evening News, and affiliates across the country. Prior to working in television, Molly was an intern for U.S. Senator Arlen Specter and also worked in public relations and market making at FreeMarkets, a global supply management company. Molly was born and raised in Pittsburgh and graduated from Sewickley Academy. She attended Bucknell University and graduated with a B.A. in Economics and concentration in Legal Studies. mhoward@kdka.com
