Kim El is a passionate wordsmith who shares her creative skills as a director, actor, poet and playwright. She is a native Pittsburgher with a journalism B.A. degree from Duquesne University and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. Her artistic background includes performances with New Horizon Theater, Kuntu Repertory Theatre and Pittsburgh Playwrights Theatre and The Shadow Lounge. She received the 2006 Best Supporting Actress Award and 2008 Best Director Award from PPTCO for her work in their Theatre Festival in Black & White. Her “day jobs” have ranged from KDKA talk show producer to Public Relations Associate Director at Catholic Charities. Currently, Kim is a Program Manager at the Hazelwood YouthPlaces After School Program where she uses her stage skills to educate and mentor neighborhood teens.
