Call no man your father

<<Call no man your father.>> This is a very clear example of how wrong is so much of Protestant Biblical interpretation. This one phrase is wrested out of its context and applied simply and solely to the way we Catholics address our priests. But the argument fails because 'it proves too much.' I ask: what do you call your own father? Do you think that the multitudes went home and then, ever after, never called their father 'Father?' If we read the whole passage - something that Catholic Biblical scholars always do - we will see that He was speaking against the self-agraddisement of the Pharisees.
