Fatima

On 13th May 1917, near Fatima in Portugal, three shepherd children were tending their flocks when they saw what seemed to be a flash of lightning out of a clear sky.

A beautiful Lady appeared to them over a small bush. The children said it was as if she were made entirely of light, more brilliant then anything on the Earth, yet not dazzling, no more than 16 or 17 years old. She was holding a rosary whose beads seemed like the stars on a Summer's night. At first the children did not know who she was. She said

"Don't be afraid of me. I won''t hurt you".

Lucia, the eldest of the children, said, "Where do you come from?"

"I come from Heaven".

"What do you want of me?"

"I want you to come here on the 13th day of each month for the next 6 months. Later I shall tell you who I am and what it is I most desire."

On 13th July the Lady said,

“I want you to come back here on the thirteenth of next month. Continue to say the Rosary every day in honor of Our Lady of the Rosary, to obtain the peace of the world and the end of the war, because only she can obtain it.”

"Yes, yes. “ said Lucy, the eldest. “I would like to ask who you are, and if you will do a miracle so that everyone will know for certain that you have appeared to us."

“You must come here every month, and in October I will tell you who I am and what I want. I will then perform a miracle so that all may believe.”

The Lady then showed the children a vision of hell, containing demons and lost souls. She said,

“You have seen hell, where the souls of poor sinners go. It is to save them that God wants to establish in the world devotion to my Immaculate Heart.

If you do what I tell you, many souls will be saved, and there will be peace. This war will end, but if men do not refrain from offending God, another and more terrible war will begin during the pontificate of Pius XI.

When you see a night that is lit by a strange and unknown light [this occurred on January 28, 1938], you will know it is the sign God gives you that He is about to punish the world with war and with hunger, and by the persecution of the Church and the Holy Father.

To prevent this, I shall come to the world to ask that Russia be consecrated to my Immaculate Heart, and I shall ask that on the First Saturday of every month Communions of reparation be made in atonement for the sins-of the world.

If my wishes are fulfilled, Russia will be converted and there will be peace;

If not, then Russia will spread her errors throughout the world, bringing new wars and persecution of the Church; the good will be martyred, the Holy Father will have much to suffer, certain nations will be annihilated. In Portugal the faith will always be preserved...

[Here she imparted the so-called Third Secret]...

In the end my Immaculate Heart will triumph. The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to me, and she will be converted, and the world will enjoy a period of peace ...

When you pray the Rosary, say after each mystery: O my Jesus, forgive us, save us from the fire of hell. Lead all souls to heaven, especially those who are most in need.

the Lady promised the miracle for noon of 13th October.

On the 13th October, it had been raining in torrents. Many had travelled by foot all night in the rain.

Between seventy and a hundred thousand people came! As well as the pilgrims came atheists from the Masonic government and from the newspapers who wanted to make fun of the whole thing.

At mid-day by the clock - nothing! The people stayed on for a whole hour in the terrible rain. But then, at mid-day by THE SUN...

Our Lady came. She told the children that the war would soon be over. Her last words were, "Do not offend Our Lord any more. He is already too deeply offended."

Then the children saw her rise, turning towards the sun. She cast a ray of her own light actually onto the sun. The children cried out, "Look at the sun!"

Then it happened. The Miracle of the Sun. The clouds were suddenly torn apart, and the sun became visible without hurting the eyes. Then it began to whirl on itself like a firework, casting out rays of coloured light that lit up all the landscape. Then it danced in the sky. The people watched spellbound. This lasted for a full quarter of an hour. Many there got the distinct impression that the sun was actually alive.

Then, without warning, the sun appeared to detach itself from the sky and to rush down towards them. All were certain it was the end of the world. Many screamed in terror, but many others were full of joy. One recalls he said within himself, O God, how great is Thy power!

Then it was all over. The sun went back to its normal place in the sky, and again became too dazzling to look at. Everybody was not only dry but warm. Those who had come to mock were forced to report the next day what they had seen. The newspapers printed the truth on their front pages. Within a very short time, the atheist Portuguese government was gone.

And in Russia, in the very same month, the Communists stormed the Winter Palace in Saint Petersburg and began the Communist Revolution.

The great battle of the 20th century between Heaven and Earth had begun. It continues to this day.

What happened to the children? During the Dance of the Sun the children had not seen what the crowd was experiencing. They saw Our Lady dressed in the habit of Carmel. Then they saw the Holy Family blessing the World.

After the war, Jacinta and Francisco died in great pain of the flu epidemic that swept the world. Lucia became a nun, and remained with the Carmelites until she died in 2005 at the age of 98. She was granted several further visions.

The Consecration of Russia has not yet been carried out according to the requests of Our Lady, although several times a pope has fulfilled the request in part. This has lessened the power of the enemies of God. Sister Lucia insists that the Reign of the Immaculate Heart will come one day. She says of the Consecration of Russia,

"It will be late. the Holy Father will do it, but it will be late."

Our task is to pray the Rosary ever day, and to make the First Five Saturdays in reparation. Our Lady said that many sinners go to Hell because there is nobody to pray for them. Some of us reading this may be called by God to devote their lives to this task. The convents are empty. It is time to fill them again! Those of us called to the lay vocation must never forget the message of Fatima. Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us. Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us!

Amen!
