The Generation of Sports

Brailynn Watson and Jorden Moser

Did you know that North Fremont was built in 2004? There have been many generations who have played sports here at NFHS throughout the years. We all know the feeling of making memories here at North Fremont, whether you have been here your whole life, or for a short period of time. Someday we are all going to look back on these memories; some of us might miss it, or some of us won’t. We are all going to look back on our high school years when we graduate and ask ourselves “Where did the time go”.

Just like any other school, North Fremont has a track. The track can bring back memories to those of us that ran track while we were at North Fremont. You can think back at how that really didn't feel like that long ago, but then when we graduate, all we can think about is how fast time flew. Those four years end up feeling like four seconds. It can really make us miss the old memories that we made as younger kids.

To the side of this article is a picture that can bring back those memories. It can remind us of the nostalgia of the wind blowing on our skin as we raced each other to the finish line. It can also remind us of that feeling we got that felt like a million butterflies were flying around in our stomachs before every event. In those moments, we didn’t think about the memories we were making, but now that it’s over, the memories are all we think about.

Just like the track has memories, so does the bench that sits out on the football field. You can think about how many football games it has been through. Also about how many players through the generations have sat on that bench. How many losses and wins it has been through. You could've even thought about how dirty it is because the players work so hard that they sweat.

P.E. classes take place outside on that field where the bench sits. There have probably been hundreds of kids who have sat on that bench. Some of us like to think about how the kids felt while they were sitting on the bench. They could've been sitting on a game because they didn't get picked, or they could have been taking a break. That bench was made for them to sit on and to reflect on whatever they were doing. Whether they were sitting out on a game, taking a break, or even getting a heartfelt pep-talk right before the big game.

North Fremont has had many generations over the 17 years of being here, play sports. Whether it was running on the track or playing football. You were a part of the generations that made memories at North Fremont. Only you have the power to make your own memories and never take the time you have for granted.
