For the 9th consecutive year, the Huskies achieved their victory over their opponent. The Malad Dragons met their defeat last Friday at Kandler field 54-8. Huskies' homecoming is not to be messed with. The most exciting time of the year where school spirit is at its highest between all the dress-up days, competition, and the big game at the end of the week. The game where everyone comes together to cheer on the football team.
The game, from the start, was nerve-wracking. The first touchdown was scored by Carson Packer, number 22. AJ Hill, number 24, and Carson Packer were the team players that gained the most yards during the whole game. As the game progressed, our points kept going up. We talked and asked Coach Lenz what was going through his head as the game progressed, ¨I liked the progression, and the improvement of what had taken place from the last game we played,” the coach said.
By half time, the score was 38-0, and everyone was anxious. During halftime, each class's royalty came out onto the football field. The royalty was:
Seniors- Graycee Litton and Cruz Estrada
Juniors- Estefany Morales and Daren Anderson
Sophomores- Demslee Dye and Madden Palmer
Freshman- Camila Cruz and Roy Wynn
All the royalty looked great!
The Huskies victory makes the 9th consecutive homecoming win. From the first touchdown to halftime, to the final minute. It was the best experience altogether. ¨I'm happy with the outcome, I wished we would´ve played a better third quarter, special teams was a concern that we need to improve on, other than that it was a good win for us,¨ Coach Lenz explained. It was an awesome win for the Huskies with the final score, 54-8.
