When you think of small cakes or mini cakes you probably think of cupcakes, And when someone says “cookie” you might think it's own kind of category of sweet treats but what if I told a cookie is also a small mini cake and you could argue with me on that but this definition of a cookie says otherwise -“A small sweet cake, typically round and flat and having a crisp or chewy texture.”.
The first cookie-like cake thing came from Persia. ( which is now Iran )They started making sugar from sugar cane after they invaded India, and were amazed at the new honey-like sweet substance(They did not have sugar and used honey and other sweet things to make everything sweeter, many other places did the same) Toward the end of their conquering they crated cakes and the cake-cookie thing. Anyway Europe did its thing with all of the conquerings and exploration they also obtained sugar ( they used honey before too). This started the time where cakes and other sweets were created. This is where we got the first historically recorded cookie but still not a cookie from. I say that because those cookies weren’t really made to eat. They were little blobs of cake or bread batter that were put in the oven before the rest came it was used as a way to see the temperature( when I say oven I am talking about those olden day ovens the ones where you used wood and other burnable things.)And that's as much as I can put down because after this sort of period of time there are so many recipes and different cookies.
