I am proud to say that I am a mathematics teacher at CHS. This year I will be hosting IM3, Honors Precalculus, and AP Calculus AB/BC.
A little bit about your teacher:
I grew up here in Clairemont
I went to Madison HS, graduated from SDSU majoring in math, and then receiving my teaching credential there
I have taught at nearly every high school in SDUSD and many high/middle schools in the Sweetwater School District as well. I also taught geometry and Math7 in Makiki Oahu Hawaii for a year.
I began teaching when I was in high school. Many of my classmates didn’t get the algebra that I found to be so easy. It happened in college as well so I guess it’s what I do..
I love the challenge of a math puzzle. I love the infinite number of ways an expression or an equation can be represented.
My wife teaches English, I have a five year old daughter that is starting Kindergarten this year at Toler Elementary, and she is very excited about it.
My classroom goal is to create a safe space where all students can realize their own unique potential, and contribute to the discussion during exploration of mathematical concepts.
I enjoy running, playing classical guitar, surfing, sailing, scuba diving, gardening, and getting up early in the morning.
I look forward to getting to know each and every student this school year. Please keep my contact info in case you have questions, would like support, or should need to communicate with me - shedrick@sandi.net
