My name is Cheryl Esselstein and I am an Education Specialist for the Special Education Department at Clairemont High School. I will be your student’s case manager and/or co-teacher (in an academic class). Welcome to the 2021-22 school year! I’m very excited to get back to the classroom and meet your student in person!
I wanted to share some insight on who I am. I grew up in Temecula, California with two loving parents and a sister. They instilled my passion for education, my dedication to helping others, and my adventurous spirit (family vacations are the best). I graduated high school and decided to go to school out of state. I spent four wonderful years at Arizona State University where I completed my Bachelors of Science in Psychology/Marriage and Family Counseling. Life brought me back to California where I completed my multiple subject and special education credentials at California State University San Marcos.
I have had the pleasure of working for Clairemont High School for over 15 years. In truth, I find our school to be a hidden gem, where administrators, teachers, and staff work together to enrich an environment that fosters community, learning, and growth. I am proud to call CHS my home. I have coached (cheer and field hockey), participated on committees, helped develop special programs, supported learning in multiple academic fields and served students and their families. Additionally, I have been blessed to raise a family in our community. I have a daughter and a son who grew up and were educated in Clairemont schools. They are my world and I am proud that they are both graduates of CHS.
Please know I look forward to supporting your student’s learning goals. Please keep my contact info in case you have questions, would like assistance, or should need to communicate with me at: cesselstein@sandi.net.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
