My name is Julian Goodin and I will be your teacher for 9th-12th functional skills classes and peer tutoring classes. Welcome to the 2021-22 school year! I’m very excited to get back to the classroom and meet my students in person!
About Me:
● My hometown is here in Clairemont
● I Studied at Simpson University, San Diego Christian College, and Point Loma Nazarene University and played baseball and basketball in college. I hold a bachelors in psychology and I am credentialed with a dual credential in Mod/Sev and Mild/Mod education.
● I entered the teacher profession to understand and build a relationship with kiddos who have a variety of disabilities. I love working with kids at all different levels and I also coach baseball and basketball at Clairemont High School.
● CHS became my home in the 2017/2018 school year. I received a job offer after my first year of teaching at a middle school.
● I am passionate about teaching in my field because I love learning and seeing the growth for students with special needs. The special needs field is an area that most are unfamiliar with and is something I really wanted to learn about and be challenged. My goals are to build rapport with parents and students in the SPED community to expand learning opportunities to peer tutors and students in athletics.
● I have coached 4 years of baseball and basketball at CHS (JV head basketball coach and assistang JV baseball coach).
● My goal is to provide the best functional learning environment for all my students including supporting peer tutors to learn and serve others who are unique and different at CHS.
● Married with 4 boys (5yr, 2yr, and infant twins), as well as my mom and brothers and sisters living in San Diego.
● I love to golf, go for drives in my Datsun 240z, go to sporting events, play basketball and hang out with friends and family.
I look forward to developing my relationships with all my students and progressing towards student goals. I can’t wait for outings at circle of friends and going to sporting events and supporting all of our students out in the community.
