Just next door to the Royal Pavilion and the Brighton Dome, the Brighton Museum & Art Gallery houses a diverse range of exhibits, including painting, sculpture, furniture & jewellery, as well as collections of natural sciences, birds, insects, plus sections on costumes & textiles, toys & games and film & media. There are also a number of temporary exhibitions and special events throughout the year.
Temporary exhibitions are usually very interesting and often bring world class art to the city. See the current temporary exhibitions & upcoming events here.
The museum is set in the lovely tree lined Pavilion Gardens just beside the ornamental gate house, the Brighton Dome, the Royal Pavilion, and just at the start of the North Laines. A great place to sit out, relax, enjoy the cafe in the gardens and listen to the buskers, before continuing your exploration of the city centre.
