A long lazy pub lunch on a Sunday is a great British tradition. Here are some of our favourite pubs that serve a great Sunday roast
1. The Mad Hatter Pub - ££ - 10 mins walk - excellent home cooked food from this Kemptown local, who help disadvantaged locals by training them up as chefs & waiters. Not only great food, but a great cause too!
2. Busby & Wilds - ££ - 10 mins walk - cosy, local gastropub the other side of Kemptown village, with a lovely terrace garden in summer
3. Fox on the Downs- £ - 20 mins walk uphill/5 mins taxi - a hidden gem, at the top of the hill right beside Brighton Racecourse... Simple local pub, but with delicious home cooked food, generous portions and great service!
4. The Camelford Arms - ££ - 5 mins walk - stylish gay pub, with fantastic food and a roaring log fire. Everyone welcome!
5. The Basketmakers - ££ - 15 mins walk - a hidden gem favourite in the North Laines, home cooked food from local ingredients, plus craft beers & ales

7. The Coal Shed - £££ - 15 mins walk - restaurant serving modern British steak, daily specials and the finest local seasonal produce in relaxed, elegant surroundings, plus a lovely Sunday lunch
