Whilst most of Brighton's restaurants are in town, there are some along the seafront, plus lots of mostly chain restaurants at The Marina. Here are some of the seafront restaurants we like...
The Bristol Bar, Pub - ££ - 5 mins walk - great traditional pub food. Get a table in the window for great views across the sea to the pier
The Witchez, Eclectic European - ££ - 5 mins walk - quirky, eclectic restaurant cum photo design gallery, with a menu ranging from Polish to Swiss to German to Pizza!
Harry Ramsden's, Fish & Chips - ££ - 5 mins walk - Consistently good fish & chips, right opposite the pier. Yes, it's a chain, but a good one!
Palm Court, Fish & Chips - ££ - 10 mins walk - the fish & chip restaurant on the pier is actually pretty good, what could be more fun than eating out over the water
Lucky Beach, Burgers - ££ - 15 mins walk - great location, right on the beach, with tables inside and out, serving the most delicious burgers. Service sometimes variable, especially if it's busy
The New Club, Burgers - ££ - 15 mins walk - New York style burgers, steak, chicken & salads, right by the i360. Try the Dirty Burger, packed with extras and sloppy sauce!
China Garden - ££ - 15 mins walk - a great, old fashioned Chinese restaurant, with really excellent cooking and a buzzing Dim Sum service every lunchtime 12 till 4pm
Riddle & Finns, Seafood - ££ - 15 mins walk - quality local seafood, oysters & champagne bar with 2 branches: either in the Lanes or on the seafront
Murmur, Modern British - ££ - 15 mins walk - casual, elegant all day dining on the beach by the old pier. Dine on the terrace to catch the starlings' murmurations!
i360 West Beach Bar & Kitchen, Modern British - ££ - 15 mins walk - contemporary British restaurant at the base of the i360
The Salt Room, Seafood Fine Dining - £££ - 20 mins walk - stylish, chic restaurant at the Hilton Hotel for seafood & grilled meat with a terrace & sea views
Melrose - ££ - 20 mins walk - an old favourite for traditional fish & chips, other fish & seafood, right opposite the i360
The Regency - ££ - 20 mins walk - right next door to the Melrose, serving excellent fish & chips for the last 60 years
Alfresco - ££ - 20 mins walk - Contemporary glass restaurant in the former Milkmaid Pavilion, beach views
Bali Brasserie - ££ - 30 mins walk/10 mins taxi - weird but good Indonesian/Malaysian, with great buffet deals
Marrocco's - ££ - 40 mins walk/10 mins taxi - in Hove, on the seafront since 1969, serving real Italian pizza, gelato & more. Well worth the journey!
Rockwater - ££ - 45 mins walk/10 mins taxi - in Hove on the Western Lawns, iconic, stylish modern restaurant/bar with roof terrace, excellent food and great sea views
