Everyone sees a receiver and is like, “He just has to catch the ball.” But receivers do way more than that, you have to be ready to get hit. If you catch the ball, everyone is trying to run you over. Or the Quarterback throws an interception and there's nothing you can do about it. It is the show Receiver’s job to tell the stories of these amazingly talented players.
The show starts with an intro to the first of the five Receivers featured in the show, the San Francisco 49er’s George Kittle. He is technically a tight end though. It shows a bit of his life on the field and how he rouses his team to get the much needed wins in the regular season and the playoffs. It also shows his life at home where he calms down and works out. Next there is Tyshun Reaquan Samuel Sr. or just Deebo Samuels. Deebo is also on the 49ers with George Kittle but he is a wide receiver. It also shows what he brings to the team and some of his talents. For example he has perfected the end around play and when he catches it he is very fast which allows him to outrun the defenders. They add his family life with his wife and kid.
To round out the receivers in the first episode, but not the last of the receivers; Amon - Ra St Brown, his nickname is the Sun God. It talks about his draft experience which he hated and how he felt about the Detroit Lions. It also shares about his childhood because his dad was a multiple times Mr. Universe. Amon - Ra’s dad made him and his brothers work out everyday until they couldn’t anymore. It also talks about how his mom is German and she made Amon - Ra and his brothers also learn German and some other languages.
Then in the next episode it introduces Justin Jefferson and Davonta Adams. First let's start with Justin. It begins entering Justins house, where it talks about his candy obsession. Then he talks about his Alter ego where he calls himself “Jets” when he is on the football field. It also talks about what he thinks about the Minnesota Vikings, Justin Jefferson team he was drafted to, and how they could improve. Next it shows Davante Adams life and how he views his struggles with the Las Vegas Raiders that do not have a lot of talent to show for. Then it shows his family life with his wife and two daughters. After that it shows his relationship with his friend Max Crosby who is the Raiders Defensive end and the team practice drills. Eli Marks, a 6th grade student says, “I think that this show is very inspiring because it shows that you should really push it to the limits and keep pushing forward.”
I believe that this show is great to watch and is a good time killer. If you are interested in how all these amazing players get so good. Or if you want to know about the daily grind and the life away from their football jobs. Even if you don’t care and just want to watch something. I recommend this amazing series and guarantee that you will enjoy it.
