Bloomington has many amazing restaurants, but the one that truly stands out is BuffaLouies. This popular wing restaurant is beloved by tons of locals and visitors, with a menu that features a wide variety of flavorful wings, salads, burgers, and tons of unique sauces.
BuffaLouies was founded by Jay Lieser, an Indiana University graduate. The company's name was inspired by Jay’s grandfather, Louie Lieser. The company’s logo and picture were of Louie smoking a cigar. Jay’s parents, Ed and Trudy, are also known as Mr. and Mrs. Louie, and they helped him start his business. BuffaLouies uses special family recipes, sauces, and great ingredients, which have all helped become a successful restaurant and are well-known as a Bloomington staple.
After 38 years of being a beloved spot for delicious wings, BuffaLouies decided to expand and open a second location in Carmel, Indiana! This exciting news came in April of 2024. The new restaurant is now officially open, and tons of people can't wait to try their favorite wings. Nick Williams, who graduated from Indiana University (IU) and used to work at BuffaLouies, is one of the people behind this new location. He teamed up with Yogi Ferrell, who is a basketball legend from IU, and a famous American point guard! Together, they have worked hard to bring the same tasty wings to people from the original restaurant. But what locations did they go to?
This new spot is in the Arts and Design District, which is a cool place in Carmel. With both Bloomington and Carmel now having Buffalo Louie's, more people can enjoy their amazing wings and have a great meal with friends and family. Everyone is super excited to see how this new location brings the same friendly atmosphere and tasty food that makes BuffaLouies so special! BuffaLouies is hoping to expand its franchise to other parts of Indiana and even across the country. Yelp rates it a 3.9 out of 5 overall. There have been 446 reviews, and many customers are happy with the restaurant. One of the customers, Micaela S. states, “Do yourself a favor and go. Great food, great service, great environment!........ Just an overall great place!”
BuffaLouie's is a Bloomington staple that has been around for many years and is an amazing wing restaurant that has many delicious flavors of wings. Norah Greathouse, a 6th grader at EJHS, says, “ I love their lemon pepper wings.” Like the lemon pepper wings, tons of unique wings have their special flavor. But wings aren’t the only things that BuffaLouies has to offer, they also have burgers, salad, and sauces They have a whole section on the menu about their delicious exotic sauces, with seven different exotic sauces, dry rubs, and different heat levels of almost every flavor, everyone can find some sauce that they love!!
In conclusion, Buffalouies is a great restaurant that a lot of people like. Their unique flavors of wings and sauces bring crowds from all over the state. They might bring in some new people who can try out their amazing wings and food!!
