The NFL Draft occurred on April 24-26 on Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Round 1 was on April 24, rounds 2 and 3 were on April 25, and rounds 4, 5, 6, and 7 were on April 26. As many teams fight for a new, rebuilt team, we will see how college stars adapt to their new teams. Will they be the next stars, or will they fold up and get scared?
NFL prospects in action
The NFL Football Operations states, “The NFL draft originated in 1936 to level the playing field and help smaller-market teams compete for talent. After the league implemented a waiver system that favored teams with more resources, Philadelphia Eagles co-owner Bert Bell proposed the idea to the NFL. The first draft was held in February 1936 at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Philadelphia, with teams selecting from a pool of 90 players.”
The number 1 prospect in the NFL Draft is Travis Hunter, a star on and off the field. Travis Hunter is a five-star Cornerback and Wide Receiver, and has 14 interceptions in his college career. Travis Hunter is a high-achieving student, maintaining a high GPA in his anthropology major. He is also known for being involved in his community. He was projected to be the number 2 pick in the draft, and he was projected to go to the Cleveland Browns. The number 2 prospect, Abdul Carter, who had the sixth most sacks in Penn State history, with 23 sacks.

Cam Ward was the first pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and went to the Tennessee Titans. Ward graduated from Miami University. He is a 6’2”, 225-pound quarterback who was successful over his four years at college. In his 57 games at Miami, Ward had 18,189 passing yards and 158 passing touchdowns. Eli Staggs, a sixth grader at EJHS, said, “Cam Ward is a really good player.” Marquez Ortiz, a sixth grader at EJHS, said, “ Abdul Carter sounds like a good player.” Eli Staggs said, “Tetairoa McMillan is a really good player. I am excited to watch him play.”
To sum everything up in this article, whether you agree or not, the next generation of the NFL will be incredible. Many fans and coaches are super excited to watch these new prospects in action and adapt to new obstacles and challenges throughout their careers. This year's draft is surely one for the books.
