Another example of a great activity is a picnic. When you have a picnic, you should also consider bringing some healthy food options. The Nutrition Source, a good website for healthy snacks, says, “Good choices are fresh firm vegetables (raw or cooked), chopped fruit, whole grains, pasta salad, beans, and trail mix!” This website provides lots of good options for healthy snacks, and that was just some of them! Another great example is to go camping, if you can’t go camping in a campground, you could always camp in your backyard! Some places to go camping in the Bloomington area is Monroe Lake, which includes Kayaking, Fishing, Boating, Hiking, and even Picnic areas.
Another idea for something to do this summer is to read a book; although it might not be your favorite thing, it is a good thing that you could do and might just even like it! Some good examples of books to read are The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, Twilight by Stephenie Meyer, To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han, The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han, Harry Potter by JK Rowling, and many other options. This is fun because you get together with friends and have some tasty food, and you can always have games to play. A different thing you could do is simply have a sleepover with friends and even family. Cooper Deckard, a sixth grader a EJHS, quotes “Something I would recommend to do is riding a bike.” Some fun things to do at sleepover are having a movie night with snacks, playing board games, making desserts, and many other fun activities. Something great you can do as well is exercise. This is good for people to do over summer break because it can help you maintain healthy over summer break, especially if you participate in sports.
