Do you like listening to music? Then Winter Jam is the right thing for you. This tour has bands of many different genres, so there is something for everyone. This year Winter Jam was at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana! There were many Christian artists/bands such as Micah Tyler, Skillet, Anne Wilson, KB, Colton Dixson, and Newsong. (SEU Worship, The Band Table, and We are Vessel also performed before the official show started.) Zane Black came and spoke at Winter Jam as well. According to the Winter Jam website, it only costs $15 per person. This goes to funding Winter Jam next year.
Colton Dixon singing Up + Up.
First up was Micah Tyler, a Christian pop artist. He performed one of his most popular songs Walking Free, along with others like, I See Grace, God Did It, Different, and Praise the Lord. Next KB, a Christian rapper, performed Intro to Glory, 10K, Church Clap, We Still Believe, 100, Not Today Satan, and Armies. Adaya Kloster, a student at Seven Oaks who attended Winter Jam said, “I loved the lights when KB performed Church Clap.” Next Newsong, a Christian band sang, I am a Christian, Church People, I’m Always Talking to Jesus, and Arise my Love. After all those amazing performances, Zane Black came up and gave his testimony.
Then, Anne Wilson, performed some of her songs, Rebel, God & Country, Sunday Sermons, Hey Girl, Strong, Rain in the Rearview, Dirt Roads in Heaven, Songs About Whiskey, and My Jesus. After that she invited Matthew West, a very popular Christian artist, up on the stage and they sang The Cross together. Nobody knew Matthew West was going to be there so that was a fun surprise. Later Colton sang, Up + Up, Miracles, Devil Is a Liar, In Spite of Me and, Build a Boat. Adaya also said, “I liked when Colton Dixson sang Up + Up because it is a happy song.”

Skillet singing The Resistance.
Last but certainly not least, was Skillet. Skillet is a very popular Christian rock band. They performed Showtime, Feel Invincible, Awake and Alive, Ash in the Wind, Nothing but the Blood of Jesus, Hero, All That Matters, Unpopular, Monster, and The Resistance. Adaya also said, “I really liked Skillet because they had fire and I also like rock music.”
Overall the concert is great and definitely worth going to. Even better, anybody can go. The Gainbridge Fieldhouse has wheelchair access and it only costs $15 per person. Laura Chupp, a student at EJHS said, “I enjoyed seeing how many people were gathered there to worship Christ together.” Be sure to go next year. It is an experience that you will never forget.
